Dr. Iyer is a board-certified medical oncologist at Oncura Health, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders, with clinical expertise in breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. She is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based oncology care with a strong focus on patient education and whole-person support.
Dr. Iyer earned her medical degree from Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College and went on to complete a Master of Public Health at the University of Texas School of Public Health. During this time, she conducted research in cancer genetics at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, contributing to her foundation in oncology research and precision medicine.
She completed her Internal Medicine residency through the Johns Hopkins University / Sinai Hospital of Baltimoreprogram, followed by fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Maryland Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Iyer’s research interests have included breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers, and she remains passionate about advancing cancer care through both clinical practice and ongoing research. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
At Oncura Health, Dr. Iyer takes a holistic and patient-centered approach, combining clinical expertise with thoughtful communication to help patients feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their cancer journey.
Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, practicing yoga and transcendental meditation, and raising her young son.
