Dr. Pow-anpongkul is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist at Oncura Health, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders, with a focus on delivering personalized, compassionate oncology care.
Born and raised in Douglas, Georgia, Dr. Pow-anpongkul earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. He went on to attend medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, where a personal experience—his mother’s breast cancer diagnosis—inspired his commitment to oncology.
During his training, Dr. Pow-anpongkul conducted innovative research in oncolytic virus therapy, receiving prestigious grants from the American Brain Tumor Association and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Southern California and went on to serve as Chief Fellow in Hematology and Oncology through programs affiliated with Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and City of Hope National Medical Center.
Dr. Pow-anpongkul is known for his thoughtful, patient-first approach—taking the time to understand each individual’s life, values, and goals in order to provide truly whole-person cancer care. He considers it a privilege to support patients through one of the most important journeys of their lives.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Pow-anpongkul enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring nature with his cocker spaniel, and expressing his creativity through music, including singing and playing the ukulele.
