Dr. Seneviratne is a nationally recognized hematologist and medical oncologist at Oncura Health, serving as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of the research division. He specializes in the treatment of cancer and blood disorders, with a particular focus on breast cancer and clinical research innovation.


Dr. Seneviratne received his medical education from the University of Colombo before continuing his advanced training in the United States. He completed his residency and fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Southern California. He also served as a Research Fellow in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center.


Prior to joining Oncura Health (formerly Los Angeles Cancer Network), Dr. Seneviratne served on the faculty at the University of Southern California. He has also held key leadership roles in the medical community, including Chair of the Cancer Program and Chief of Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital.


As a leader in oncology research and clinical trials, Dr. Seneviratne serves as a principal investigator on numerous studies advancing cancer treatment, particularly in breast cancer. He is widely published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood, The Lancet Oncology, and The New England Journal of Medicine. His work continues to shape the future of precision medicine and cancer care.


Dr. Seneviratne is an active contributor to the global oncology community, presenting at major international conferences such as the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and American Society of Hematology (ASH).


He has been consistently recognized as one of the Top Doctors in Los Angeles (2020–2024), named among Pasadena’s Top Doctors, and selected as a Super Doctor by the Los Angeles Times.
