Dr. Steven Yu is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist at Oncura Health, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood disorders, including prostate, breast, colorectal, kidney, and urothelial cancers. He is known for delivering personalized, evidence-based oncology care, integrating clinical expertise with the latest research and treatment advancements.
Dr. Yu earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to pursuing medicine, he served as Vice President of a startup pharmaceutical company overseas, gaining valuable experience in the global healthcare landscape. He went on to earn his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also served as a Congressional Health Fellow in Washington, D.C. for the Office of the Majority Whip.
He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology-Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California, gaining extensive experience in comprehensive cancer care and multidisciplinary treatment planning.
Dr. Yu has contributed significantly to oncology research, with publications across a wide range of cancers, including prostate, urothelial, kidney, cervical, colorectal, and breast cancers, as well as hematologic disorders. His work has been recognized with a research award, and his abstracts have been presented at major international conferences such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Yu has served as a consultant for Reuters and has been featured in the USC Alumni Newsletter.
Dr. Yu is also passionate about global health and has participated in medical missions, including volunteering in Port-au-Prince, Haiti following the earthquake, as well as supporting pediatric care initiatives abroad.
